Milpitas Electric will be onsite from Tuesday, April 1 through Friday, April 4 to replace five outdated Zinsco electrical subpanels in the Cribari Center. Three panels located in the Auditorium will be replaced Tuesday through Thursday—one per day due to their size. The remaining two panels, located in the West Wing (across from the Post Office and upstairs by the guest room balcony), will be replaced on Friday.
⚡ Important Notes:
- Power will be shut off in each area during replacement.
- The Auditorium and West Wing are on separate circuits, so one zone will remain operational while the other is offline.
Why are we replacing Zinsco panels?
Zinsco panels, common in older buildings, are now considered a safety risk due to a history of failing to trip during electrical surges. They are often uninsurable under modern homeowner and commercial policies. Replacing these panels is a key part of our commitment to life safety, insurability, and system reliability.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to invest in the safety and resilience of The Villages community.
